Vulnerable to: Kryptonite, red sunlight, magic(sometimes?? it depends??), high frequencies, lead (can't see through it). He also needs to have light from a yellow sun for his powers to function at all; Clark works sort of like a battery, and can use up or totally deplete his own power in the absence of sunlight.

Definitely going to nerf all of this down and eliminate anything that would remove the challenge from the game or make it less fun for other people.

What are your character's motivations? What drives them? Who are some important people to them, if anyone?

The most important people to Clark are his family; his wife Lois Lane and their twin sons, Jordan and Jonathan. While Clark is often pulled between the demands of his not insignificant responsibilities to his family and his duty to the world at large, his convictions are strengthened by these things too. Being with his family grounds him and reminds him of the kind of world he's fighting for. While he still sometimes struggles with the inherent loneliness of being a stranger from another planet, he still feels more at home on earth than he ever has before.

Clark is very much the archetypical 'does the right thing because it's the right thing to do' kind of guy. It's impossible for him to stand by while others are suffering and there's something he can do. However, the realities of his power both limit and complicate his ability to step in. Clark is very aware of the fact that most people aren't comforted by the idea of a single person who can punch a building in half, even if that person is usually standing between them and a hail of bullets. Because of that, he's always very aware of how Superman comes across to the world, what his responsibilities are, and what it would mean if he ever lost his temper, used more force than intended, or made a mistake that got civilians caught in the crossfire. While he almost never needs to be concerned about his own physical well-being, Clark is constantly calculating the least dangerous or destructive way to handle a given situation.

Clark understands that Superman's ability to change the world mostly begins and ends with his physical abilities and what guidance he can offer. Superman is, in a lot of ways, a public face that has to be beyond reproach. Clark's civilian job and identity act as a counterweight to that; as a journalist, he can deal with the kinds of problems that Superman can't, and he can also have a normal life that isn't always under intense public scrutiny.

Would Superman like to punch a billionaire? Yes. Can Superman punch a billionaire? I mean, also yes, but like, punching Jeff Bezos -- I mean, Lex Luthor into the sun is only emotionally satisfying and doesn't change the system that allows him to exist and consolidate power. In order to engage with deeper systemic issues, Clark has to cultivate the rarest power of all: journalistic integrity. Granted Lois is still a better journalist than he is, so Clark is currently a stay at home dad, which he loves, because he's a soft wholesome bitch.

If given the chance, what would your character change about themselves or their circumstances?

He's mostly come to grips with a lot of his own issues so, right at the moment, but he'd want to know about his brother Tal-Rho a lot sooner than 'right before the guy tries to take over the world.' Maybe they could have talked out the whole world domination thing. He'd also really like his kids to be in danger never, but since that's not terribly realistic, he'd probably settle for 'much less frequently' and 'normal danger, not superhero danger.' (Lois not being in danger would be great too but she can handle herself and it's kind of her job.)

Strengths? Favorite things?

Clark's favorite things are apple pie and harvest festivals and helping people. He's a voracious reader and a huge nerd, and in a lot of ways a very wholesome ideal of a good country boy. He sees and believes the best of people, but isn't naïve; he understands that not everyone is decent deep down and not every problem has an 'everyone wins' solution. He always has hope, though. Not every problem can be solved, but this one can. Not every person can be saved, but this one, maybe. He's very much just a guy trying to do the right thing and he's always grateful when that works out. One of Clark's greatest strengths is that he doesn't give up or lose hope, even when he knows the odds are stacked impossibly against him.

Clark is very intelligent; he learns very, very quickly, and can be fairly analytical. Both Clark and Lois are intensely driven people with lofty ambitions when it comes to making a difference in the world. They care primarily about ordinary people, and how to improve their lives or give them the means to do so themselves. Despite Clark's whole Superman deal, he doesn't think of himself as better than other people, and he's always looking to the kindness and strength of others for his own inspiration.

Clark is hard-working, self-assured, and generally very empathetic. He has a lot of emotional intelligence and incredible self-control, having had a solid lifetime to learn to manage his emotions in the ol' world of cardboard. He's actually pretty good with people and tends to be a solid, calm presence when emotions are out of control. It's hard not to like him; he's like an indestructible golden retriever.

As a father, Clark rarely so much as raises his voice and is always respectful and supportive towards his kids. When he and Lois have an argument, he's good at knowing how to meet her where she's at, weather that means giving her space or reminding her that it's ok to rely on him, or finding some other way to help. He and Lois are always on each other's team and though they don't make every decision together, they clearly love and trust each other and communicate well.

Weaknesses? Fears and phobias? Anything they regret or avoid?

His kids don't think he's cool and they don't think his dad jokes are funny so like, that's tough. Not gonna recover from that one. Also, on a personal level, he regrets not being around for them more when they were younger and not doing a better job handling things.

Clark has had a long career, and he hasn't always made the right calls, so in a general sense he has a lot of regrets. Clark's mere presence as Superman acts as a magnet for weird terrible shit, and he's very much aware of that, but he also can't... not be Superman because his personality would never allow it. Without the people he's close to keeping his guilt and uncertainty in check, it can be tough for him to manage. He feels overly responsible for everything that happens, and also feels like he needs to do everything on his own, even when he knows he's overwhelmed. Even though he has colleagues now, Clark is extremely reluctant to ask for help and needs the people in his life to remind him that he really can't do everything on his own.

He can also be very reluctant to act when it comes to advocating for himself in everyday interactions - it's VERY easy for stronger personalities to steamroll him before he can get a word in edgewise. This isn't really an act; it's a facet of Clark's personality. He internalizes a lot of anger and resentment for fear of how people will perceive him, so in most situations he's highly non-confrontational, and sometimes that means he doesn't act in situations where that anger is totally justified. If the injustice is directed towards other people, he'll always act. If it's directed towards him, well, he's lucky that Lois doesn't stand for that.

Unless he really trusts someone, Clark is always wearing a mask to some extent. Even though he has good intentions, there's also a real element of fear; that if people really know him, they'll start treating him differently, for better or worse.

Otherwise, Clark's fears tend to be directed towards other people; obviously his family getting hurt is terrifying and the single easiest way to get to him. Civilians are only a hair lower on the priority list.

Other fears are definitely things like his powers growing beyond his control or understanding, just losses of control and helplessness in general. Being depowered isn't really an issue so much as not being able to do anything in a given situation (or being the cause of said Situation). Mind Control: a superfamily staple plotline.

Where does your character fall on the moral spectrum? Are they the average, law-abiding citizen? A mischief-maker? A genocidal villain? What are some of the things they've done for or against the greater good?

He's Superman so, you know, big superheroic boy scout. He's spent the better part of his life punching supervillains into space and saving the world in big ways and little ways. He's a good dude.
